Amazing
I ordered these after being disappointed by the Sennheiser PC350 headset. The sound coming out of the PC350s had a kind of plastic-y echo to it, like something you might hear from cheap desktop speakers. But the real problem with them was the mic -- it has a high-pass filter to reduce background noise and apparently my voice is too deep for it. I came through sounding clipped and choppy.I searched around for reviews on the MMX 300s, but they're hard to find. A friend of mine has the DT 770s and I've always liked their sound, so I took a chance and bought these. I'm really glad I did.First, the mic: The mic on the MMX 300s is extremely sensitive. I've had to turn off all software gain and reduce the input volume to avoid blowing my teammates eardrums out, not to mention distorting my voice. Consequently the mic will pick up a bit more noise than the PC350s but at least it will also pick up your voice, and will do an excellent job of it.As to sound,...

Ultimate consumer headset
Superior audio compared to the Sennheiser PC350.The PC350 is more for competitive play, focusing on speech clarity and voice recognition (read: cold, harsh audio signature) while the MMX300 is the overall better headphone (read: natural, full sound).The MMX300 mic is slightly more noisy than the PC350 mic, but not very noticeable during play.I own both the PC350 and MMX300. The headsets were auditioned using an ASUS Xonar D2X sound card and the Beyerdynamic USB sound card.

Forget Gaming, Great for Conference Calls / Skype
I spend 3-4 hours a day on the phone at minimum and this headset is the deal. First, it completely blocks out noise around you so you can hear clearly the other person. Doesn't matter if the guy next to you wants to run a chainsaw, you can't hear it. Second, it is comfortable. No ear pressure, super comfortable. Third, the sound is great..The microphone is so-so quality, but very decent. I think the microphone doesn't capture a full range of sound quite as good as some of my other headsets, but then again I am talking on the phone and not performing arts.The price is a little heavy, but the quality is there. Order it, use it for 30 minutes, and you won't even remember the cost...
