Very effective cat for HC and CO emissions
I had one of these installed with a 2" exhaust on my 1988.5 Suzuki Samurai. My Samurai blew 10 PPM HC and .01% CO which is very low. However, I barely passed NOx, but I believe that is due to my EGR system not functioning as well as it used to, due to the low back-pressure of the 2" exhaust.Update;My Samurai stopped idling a while back, which I figured was a cogged idle circuit. Turned out to be a bad ground that disabled the feed-back system for the carb and so the mixture went rich for a few thousand miles. That literally melted the inside of the cat, so I have another one coming today.If your engine is not running in good tune, make sure you fix that before replacing the cat, and make sure you take care of any tuning issues that arise, or you'll be replacing a cat way before it's time...

CARB Approved Catalytic Converter
My Suzuki Samurai failed a CA smog test. I tried minor maintenance but that did not help. I found this cat on Amazon.com. It has an executive order number, D-193-85, issued by California Air Resources Board. The manufacturer (Magnaflow) lists this cat as being for the Samurai (along with other vehicles). They've changed this catalytic converter
Just received the converter from Amazon. Good deal, but discovered from buying another one a few months ago that Magnaflow has gotten cheap and stopped putting the heat shield on both sides of the converter.

Great way to improve your exhaust
Going with a Magnaflow cat was a really great way to improve my exhaust tone and performance. Often times people do not realize that Magnaflow as a company tests their products on vehicles before they release their product to the public. Many of their applications may say "universal" however they may not have been tested on your specific vehicle and it is unknown weather or not it will pass emissions testing. So far so good. I got this cat in the mail right on time and had it installed the same day. The product looks to be good quality and has a sturdy heat shield. No rattling or any unexpected sounds/leaks. Overall very good product.

very satisfied
Bought this cat for my Porsche 944 with alot of doubt. Installation was fairly simple with the purchase of a few adapters and muffler clamps. It went through emissions with flying colors. At a dealership this repair would have cost around $1200.00 minimum, total cost for me was about $50.00 as I took advantage of a returned/like new item.

These MagnaFlow direct fit catalytic converters are designed for easy bolt-on installation for the professional installer. Welding, cutting, and tube-bending equipment are not required. They feature a ribbed body that minimizes expansion and distortion when the converters heat up. The ribs form a channel that protects the cushioning mat from direct exposure to exhaust gases, and they hold the ceramic catalyst in proper alignment. These converters use a monolithic honeycomb catalyst. The ceramic coating is designed for maximum flow and surface area, and the coating method is strictly controlled to maintain exact specifications. An improper coating could result in flow restrictions or an emissions test failure. These converters are designed to exact OE specifications and are available for the most popular vehicle makes and models.

Magnaflow Exhaust products are covered by a lifetime warranty from defects. Most mufflers are warranted against blowouts and defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle in which they were originally installed. Magnaflow's XL Series mufflers/exhausts, catalytic converters, and titanium exhaust line carry a limited warranty. This warranty is voided when any muffler has been installed on any commercial or racing vehicle, or has been improperly installed, altered, subjected to misuse, or damaged from accidents.
