The radiator cap is often overlooked in common engine overheating problems. It is designed to add pressure to the cooling system and increase the boiling point like grandma's pressure cooker. A faulty radiator cap can cause your car to boil-over at a lower temperature, but is an easy and inexpensive D-I-Y repair. The Stant SWIV-EL radiator cap design allows the cap to be installed and removed much easier than conventional radiator caps, because the shell of the cap rotates independently from the upper sealing gasket, stem and bottom plate. It's almost as if the shroud is mounted a half inch or so closer to the battery, as a strip was added to the overflow tank side and the battery side was bent 90 degrees around the radiator.
same here i had the same problem hot sunny day long hills look at the speed ohhhhh it hot to late boooosh steam under the bonnet pulled over middle of no where lucky been camping had a cooking stove and found place of metal on the side of the road...
