thank you for such a staggering land rover range rover timing cover gasket. after disposing of all of the historic gasket sealant and cleaning the copper with carb cleaner, I applied the copper coat and let it dry over night. I purchased copper coat in the hopes of salvaging the copper head gasket. High-quality rearend cover fit superb on my 2000 f150 posi 2wheel power system the gasket + bolts come with it also. New head gaskets are now not available.
I had leaks from my oil cooler lines, front main seal, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, head gaskets and timing cover. The project was on. I ordered a head gasket set, rockers, rocker shaft, head bolts, push rods, oil pump, timing chain set with gears and seals, lifters and a 4. I filled the oil cooler lines with oil to backfeed oil into the oil pump (which I feel is a better option than vaseline in the pump, but merely through speculation). On a whim, I removed a valve cover and removed a rocker assembly. Remove the crank position sensor and torque converter and bell housing bolts(Two of which need to be removed from the top). For example, I filled a new oil filter with oil before installing. I believe that with a good break in additive, and a longer break-in period (I’m going 1000 miles before changing the oil), you will see optimum break in. For coolant, I recommend pentosin G12++. Next up, I removed the heat shields, this will let you access the remaining electrical connectors for the knock sensors, oil pressure sensor and cam position sensor. I then ordered the main and rod bearings, ring sets, rear main seal, and cross-bolt sealing washers. I used synthetic Rotella oil, which some would say hinders break-in, but most of the best modern engines in the world are broken in with synthetic. While doing some active research online and from browsing land rover forums over the last 10 years, I knew my timing chain was on its last leg, and that my rockers might be at the end of their serviceable life. This project started with oil leaks (shocking to the Land Rover community, I know). The easiest way to get to the torque converter bolts is to pull the oil pan out.
we love it. But recently the right valve cover gasket is leaking oil. ( I can see where the gasket parted. The really bad news is that the local dealer wants $2000 to replace the gasket.
