Great bulb, great price, but correct part number is: 85122+
The part number on the box clearly indicates that it is a 85122 bulb, yet the bulbs inside were 85122+. There is a difference between the two in terms of color temperature after the initial burn-in time. Standard 85122 bulbs will have more of a faint blue-white appearance once burned in whereas the 85122+ bulbs will stay more white / yellow.Great bulb, great price, just not what I was looking for.

Good replacement for OEM...if you buy 2
I have a 2001 Audi A8L with the original Philips HID bulb part number 85123. After searching high and low, this looks to be the best option for replacing the factory bulb with an OEM bulb. I put the new bulb in to replace the one which was burned out. My first impression is that the color is quite different from what I was used to, but the new bulb is much brighter than the old. The old bulb is much bluer than the new one. After searching the net, I learned about color shift. Over time, if the experts are correct (why wouldn't they be, they're experts, right?!), the color will become cooler over time (around 100 hours)...more blue...more like what I was used to with the old bulbs. All things considered, the bottom line is that you'll be happy with these if you aren't emotionally attached to the blue hue of your HID lights. And yes, these are about half the cost of what you can find in a brick and mortar store or other specialty websites.

Closest to HID by far
I picked these up in Canada but it looks like they are now available in the US from Amazon. I was a bit skeptical because I have been trying to find a replacement bulb that replicates or comes close to HID Xenon for my '04 Touareg (I neglected to tick that option box when I bought it). Finally after trying three different brands and styles I have found the winner. I compared the HID lighting in my Audi to the Nighthawk Platinum and one would be hard pressed to tell the difference. It's also very noticeable in nighttime driving, I can see much better on the back country roads and it has given me more confidence when I do have to be out in the dark. A great product that's worth the $.Just keep in mind that when it comes to halogen bulbs the brighter they are, the hotter they burn and the quicker they burn out. If you have daytime running lights that utilize your headlamps don't expect to get much more than a year out of these (or any similar product such as the Silverstar)...

The only decent bulb for 9004, well worth the price
OK, everybody with a car that takes 9004 headlights know how horrible the design is. The low-beam is only 45 watts, focused basically like a cheap flood light only worse. Finally, there is a good bulb in 9004: the GE Nighthawk Platinum. It is the only +90 sold in the US, and the only one for 9004. (It is also available in almost every bulb type except sealed beams). As the 9004 was US-only, most of the good European bulbs (Osram Silverstar and Nightbreaker, Philips Xtreme Power, etc) are not available in 9004.No longer sold anywhere except Amazon (Wal-Mart used to sell them but they no longer carry this awesome bulb). The price is comparable to the Sylvania Silverstar, and cheaper than the Silverstar Ultra (which are both "faker" blue-tinted overpriced junk). Most "bright" and "white" bulbs cheat their way to white light by dipping their bulb in blue paint--it "looks" whiter but the blue filter really robs much of the light, and visibility is actually *decreased*. Better than OEM lights
Just replaced the high (9005) and low (9006) on my '03 4Runner. Installation took about 10 minutes. These lights are brighter than the OEM bulbs. The light is a bit whiter but not like the HID bulbs on my other car. If these bulbs weren't on sale, I probably would have gone with the HID upgrade for a few dollars more.When you put these in make sure not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Other than that; installation is simple:* Twist out the bulb assembly by turning 1/4* Release the retaining latch to remove the bulb* Replace the bulb* Insert the bulb assembly and lock in place turning 1/4If they don't last; I'll post an update.

Great direct replacement for my 9 yr old audi d2s headlights
Worked out great, fit perfectly and I couldn't believe how much the oem bulbs had dimmed over the years. The philips crystalvision really made a difference at night, it was like driving a new car. When you remove the old bulbs make sure you see how they are oriented in the socket so you insert the new philips the same and installation is a couple of minutes. Hardest part of the installation is getting the rear headlight houseing out of the way to get to the back of the socket.

best D2S HID bulb value on the market
i have the bulbs installed in a 2005 maxima 3.5sl. they replaced the oem bulbs (sylvania) because one of them failed to illuminate which lasted 6 years and 1 day, typical bulbs last 5 years. i would recommend using these bulbs especially if you have a hard to reach or in my case have to disassemble the front end to replace. this bulb will also be much brighter than the blue or purple bulbs on the market and more reliable as well. make sure not to touch the glass but if you do touch the glass do not clean the glass as the coating could get damaged. always replace these bulbs in pairs not only will it look hideous if you do not but they tend to fail around the same time.the packaging from amazon could have been better and may have caused the damage to the manufacturers packaging with plastic prongs that broke in the packaging causing one of the HIDs to be loose in the package. no damage was caused to the product.

Not Bad-Not Great - Last Image Incorrect
The Good:Decent colorIf your D2S bulbs have been used for a few years (or one year heavily) this one will easily appear brighter.The Bad:Colored glass which means lost output due to filtering out lower wavelengths.Not as good as the previous Crystal Vision SeriesDetailed:This is the second series of Crystal Vision bulbs by Philips (as indicated by the product name CVS2). The original Crystal Vision was the 85122 CX, which was actually a renamed 85122 CM (the CM stood for color match and was meant to match the color of aged bulbs). When Philips released a bulb that no longer got bluer as it aged (the 85122+ which starts at 4300K and stays there), the color match name no longer made sense, so the bulb was renamed Crystal Vision. Clear as mud? Good :-PUnfortunately, this bulb is a downgrade from the original. Instead of using a more expensive (and effective) salt mixture to get the 5000K light, the designers opted to use...

Ok, not bright, not blue
Four months installed in a 2003 Honda Element, no problems. But they're not any perceivably brighter than the standard Autozone bulbs I had in before (I replaced one in the dark and compared the two on a dark night). And they're not really the "blue" ones that you see on the road. Not sure what those are.

Good Lights
These lights are a great replacement for a Jeep Wrangler's OEM fog lights. HOwever, remember that these are twice the wattage of the OEM bulbs and you should make a new wiring harness for the fog lights so that the new amperage doesn't fry your OEM fogt light wiring.

Almost like true Xenons
These bulbs don't quite have the same color as my factory Xenon lights (2006 MINI Cooper S). However, even though the Xenons are only 35W, these Hella 100W bulbs have about the same light output. I've used them a couple of times on the interstate as fog lights, and no one really objected to their brightness level.
