Getting a grip on things!
The name of this product, Maasdam Pow'R Pull 8050 Wire Grip, is self explanatory. However, I was impressed with how solidly this tool is built. My guess is that it will handle forces well beyond its ton and a half specifications. Amazon's pricing was the best I could find anywhere.

Best alternative out there.
I use this device with my come-along to stretch fence wire. I haven't found anything else as simple and reliable.It would be nice if the jaw teeth were a little bit sharper to bite into the run strands on anti-walk-down fencing. This wire is harder than standard barbed wire and tends to slip in the Wire Grip's jaw.
