YUM! AMBROSIA!
After reading several of Bruce Fife's books (and they were wonderfully easy-to-read for the non-scientific type), I decided to give coconut oil a try to help with losing weight and getting my blood sugar under control. As a non-medication taking, recently diagnosed diabetic, I want to try whatever natural remedies I can find to stay off insulin and other diabetes meds, in addition to meds for cholesterol, etc. I tried taking a teaspoon or two with meals and a teaspoon btw meals and my blood sugar numbers were noticeably lower the same day. (Fife says the suggested dose is 3-4 tbs/day). The taste of this brand is fantastic, light and creamy with a delicious coconutty taste! I love coconut so I was able to eat it right from the jar, but I also tried it spread on a Wasa Crisp bread--WOW, what an easy way to get MCFAs into your diet! I will definitely be using this instead of any oils for all my cooking needs (except a little EVOO mixed together with this for salad dressing.) Also, I'm...

Works Wonders for Black Hair
I've gone to wearing my hair "natural"--no chemical relaxers to straighten it. On advice from other African-American women who have also gone the natural route, I tried mixing coconut oil, unrefined shea butter, and aloe gel to use on my hair. The results are nothing short of miraculous! My hair is soft, shiny, and manageable. I use the braid-out/twist-out styling methods, and the resulting curls and spirals are absolutely beautiful. Also, I've read up on the health benefits of coconut oil, so I will definitely be experimenting with it in my cooking.

Throw away all of your other products, you will never need them again lol
I deep fried my hair with bleach about 8 times, it's been every color of the rainbow and then some, I relaxed it, etc. Everything you could do wrong to your hair, I've done! BUT... Just when I thought all hope was lost, I tried using a little jojoba oil in my hair before flat-ironing it (with a CHI, of course <3) wow. just wow. My hair is just as soft, if not softer than it was before I ever burned it a million times over. It comes out very straight, and the style holds very well. Mind you, it's really easy to over do it with this oil because it's so concentrated, but I personally don't trust it unless it comes pure. For shoulder length hair like mine, I use about 3 or 4 drops each time. THAT'S IT. Or it'll look more oily than the fields in the middle east. I've done this on my sister's hair (which is completely different, it's very kinky) and it works even better. Since her hair isn't bleached, it not only comes out straight and soft but shiny as well (and not in the omg oil way)...

Love this oil
I love this oil for skin care. I no longer use lotions on my body or face. I put the oil in a small spray bottle with 1/4 water and spray on my skin. The oil soaks in quickly and leaves my skin very soft.

Wonderful allover facial treatment
I have been using jojoba oil on my face for almost a week now and I am absolutely amazed. I started using shikakai and amla powders on my face a while ago (you can see my reviews for them as well) and was extremely impressed by how soft it made my skin feel, but it became very drying after a while. So I tried a few different oils and really wasn't very happy with any of them until I tried jojoba. Not only has it made my skin even softer than the amla and shakakai powders alone (which is amazing in itself!), but it also leaves my skin feeling cool and hydrated without being at all oily. My skin has also become more uniform as well. I normally have combination skin, oily on some parts and dry in others. The jojoba has completely balanced me out and I don't have oily and dry patches anymore, just super hydrated, soft skin all over. I've also noticed that the discoloration I've had on some parts of my skin (from old acne scarring) is fading significantly. I have no idea how that's...

Fascinating Book
Oil 101 is a fascinating book. It explains everything I wanted to know about oil. Over the past few years with rapidly rising and falling oil prices, politicians, TV pundits and market commentators blamed speculators, OPEC, refineries and a host of other seemingly random events. I felt that everyone understood only tiny portions of the oil business. There was no single source which pulled together disparate areas describing oil. Internet searches for oil definitions yielded individual descriptions without an overall context. Downey's Oil 101 brings all parts of the oil business together in a logical easily understood manner. The sequence of chapters is perfect and the author makes no assumption of prior knowledge. The index is so thorough that I use the book daily as a desk reference. The oil industry from A-Z
As a commodity markets professional with over 12 years experience in the industry, I did not expect to gain a significant amount of incremental knowledge from reading this book. Boy, was I wrong! From the first chapter which gives an overview of the oil industry to the last on the the oil derivatives markets, I learnt new information from seemingly every page. As I read through the book, nomenclature and practices that I had taken for granted in the business took on more significant meaning as I understood why they existed (e.g. why do US domestic flight routes use JetA and international routes use JetA-1? Because JetA-1 has a lower freezing point suitable for polar routes and because JetA production is more profitable to refineries as it can be produced in slightly higher volumes). This is an excellent starting point for anyone - whether they are a student or a hobbyist, to learn in a clear, concise and systematic manner, about liquid oil exploration, production and use. This is not a high-level technical manual, but it does cover all the essential details; geology, engineering and chemistry of liquid oil and oil products. It is a well laid out text, it is easy to read and it would be a first choice undergraduate text for a one semester course for engineers, scientists and economists.

Great price for moisturizing oil
I have used almond oil as a body and facial moisturizer for about two years now. It soaks in quickly, has no odor and does not leave a sticky residue on the skin. It is also a great massage oil. The price is less than half of what you would pay in a health food store. I keep it in a dark closet and it stays fresh. I pour it into smaller squeeze bottles for everyday use.

LOVE IT!
Love the product. The product was delivered before delivery date. I was concerned that the product was not 100% almond oil. After receiving the product I completely satisfied. The oil is light and absorbed quickly. I am a huge olive oil fan (for skin and hair) I will replace the olive oil with almond oil in my skin and hair care regimen.

Head to Toe Moisturizing
I began to use almond oil to address a dry scalp and brittle hair issue. Little did I know when I bought my first bottle that I'd stumbled onto a miracle oil that serves as an excellent moisturizer from head to toe. I massage in a small amount after a bath and my skin is supple (it also has the slight glow another reviewer wrote of!). I began pressing a small amount of the oil into my face as the ultimate test. So far, it's softened the few lines I have with no clogged pores or allergic reactions. I may never go back to the expensive creams I'd been using as a nighttime moisturizer. Oh, and as for the dry scalp, my hair is soft and there is markedly reduced breakage. Almond oil is IT.

Very Impressed
I was impressed when I received this, the packaging was very high end and looks like something that would be bought at a fancy mall store. The type of oils that were in this set were good assortment. There was a pamphlet inside too that had more oil uses. Impressive, will buy from again.

Nothing but Perfection!
This Argan hair oil is nothing short of amazing. I'm a product junkie with thick/frizzy hair, and have NEVER experienced a hair product like this before. I have tried this formula both ways: on wet and on dry hair. Using it on dry hair gives it a bit of a shine...and even a little body. In fact, up until yesterday the results I achieved by putting it on my dry hair weren't even worth me leaving a review. Yesterday, I tried something different. I put a little bit (a dime size) in the palm of my hand both when I shampooed and conditioned my hair. I let the conditioner/argan oil set in my hair for about 10 minutes (also combed it through the ends). It instantly changed the texture...felt like silk as I rinsed it out. Combed it straight, sat under the dryer for 30 min. After that I put a dime size in before blow drying it (no other products) for about 8-10 minutues tops (the technique of blow drying isn't to dry it....but the blow dryer infuses the oil even more...

Not what I expected :(
Well I am a research Queen ! I don't like to buy something without knowing about it first so I saw the great reviews and also went on the website to make sure it was 100 % argan oil and nothing else and they didn't list all the ingredients on website. So I ordered it and well its is not 100% argan oil... it has all these other things inside of it.... these are the ingredients in order on the bottle....cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, cyclomethicone, argania spinosa kernal oil (argan oil, capryly Methicone, phenyl trimethicone, fragrance. Now the only reason that I am upset about that is because I could of got the exact same product at sally's beauty supply for [...]. The products works good and it smells really good im just upset I paid 30 for the same thing. ***** Update**** Okay so I can be more descriptive the product that is at sallys is called one and only argan oil.... Good low cost product
I've been using Pura D'or argan oil for the past year and it is great! But more recently I saw the Agadir brand on Amazon for a lot cheaper so I wanted to give it a try. Overall, it is not bad. Helps you moisturize your skin a lot better than lotion but it seems that it may be diluted. Overall, it is still a great product. You get what you pay for. I just wish that it was more pure. is more expensive but if you have the money, it is the best there is, period.
